Responsibility at Readers Copenhagen

Materials

Readers Copenhagen believe reading glasses should be more than a short-lived product—they should be a long-lasting design piece. We designing with focus on durability by using high-quality materials and careful craftsmanship.

Our glasses are made from a unique thin nylon that provides both lightness and flexibility. We combine this with premium materials such as stainless steel, durable plastic, robust hinges and screws, and hardened lightweight lenses, ensuring our glasses last for years.

We continue to improve our production chains and our use of materials. Our children’s sunglasses are made from plant-based plastic, and our sunglasses are now crafted from recycled plastic.

Packaging

We take responsibility for our products and their packaging. Our polishing cloths are made from recycled threads, and our reusable cases are free of metal. We print on FSC-certified paper and use compostable plastics.

Our Definition of Responsibility

For us, responsibility means making conscious choices. Many ready-to-wear reading glasses are sold seen as products with a short livespan. We aim to change that by striving to design products that last longer - creating less impact in the process.

We also recognize there’s always more to learn. That’s why we continuously refine our products and processes, inviting our customers to join us on this journey toward greater sustainability.

Supporting Local Environmental Projects

Our sustainability strategy includes supporting local environmental initiatives focused on improving marine and coastal ecosystems. Change starts with action, and by supporting projects close to home, we can see tangible results and help preserve our natural surroundings.

Every year, we partner with different projects that are carefully selected. By allowing us to immerse ourselves fully in collaboration while building a diverse portfolio of meaningful initiatives.
