Responsibility at Readers Copenhagen
Materials
Readers Copenhagen believes reading glasses should be more than a short-lived product—they should be a long-lasting design piece. We design with a focus on durability by using high-quality materials and careful craftsmanship.
All our glasses are made from carefully selected quality materials such as extra-thin and durable nylon, stainless steel, robust hinges and hardened lightweight lenses. This ensures glasses with high flexibility, optimal comfort and durability.
We continue to improve our production chains and our use of materials. Our kids’ sunglasses are made from plant-based plastic, and our sunglasses are now crafted from recycled plastic.
Packaging
We take responsibility for both our products and our packaging: Cleaning cloths made from recycled fibers, reusable cases without metal, FSC-certified paper and compostable plastic reduce our overall footprint.
With Readers Collect, we also offer you the option of easily returning your glasses to your nearest Readers Copenhagen retailer, after which we will sort the glasses for either recycling or reuse.
Our Definition of Responsibility
For us, responsibility means making conscious choices, by creating products that last longer and have a lower environmental impact.
We do not claim to have all the answers, but we strive to constantly learn and improve. That is why we are continuously working to make our products and processes more responsible and invite our customers to join us on this journey.
That is our definition of responsibility.
Supporting Local Environmental Projects
Readers Copenhagen is inspired by the sea and the beautiful nature along our coasts.
That is why we support local environmental projects that work to improve the marine and coastal environment. Change starts with action, and by supporting projects close to home, we can see tangible results and help preserve our natural surroundings.
Every year, we support different projects. This allows us to engage wholeheartedly in each project, while building a broad portfolio of exciting initiatives that we handpick with care. Read more about our current collaboration here.
